The Elephant in the Room
When I think about my commitment to the vegan ethic and living that lifestyle, I realize it was truly something I could not have avoided doing. It was a logical and easy transistion from 35 years of vegetarianism. It should've occurred sooner, but, hey, at least it finally took hold of me and has made me happier and eating more of the right stuff.
I endorse the sentiments of Op-Ed Contributor to The New York Times ,MICHAEL POLLAN,

"...passing a health care reform bill, no matter how ambitious, is only the first step in solving our health care crisis. To keep from bankrupting ourselves, we will then have to get to work on improving our health — which means going to work on the American way of eating."
The "American way of eating" is also a huge, deeply-embedded mindset, which will require, in the least, firstly transistioning to vegetarianism. I'm definitely good with that for starters.
